2nd last lesson .

Today , we were given a piece of paper .. That piece of paper is a brochure about love . We were told to make our own brochure and give our brochure its own title . We had to go around the class and asked 5 boys and 5 girls , what are their expectation of a girl/a boy . After that , we had to answer some of the questions .. At the last page , we had to write out a love song that we always hear when we were in sad moments . Since we couldnt complete the work on time , we were told to bring that home and were told to pass up on the next lesson .

Last lesson

Do youknow what day is today ? It is the last literature lesson for term 1 .. So sad .. ): So , basically , we were told to keep away all our things from the table and there shouldnt be anything left on the table . So , Ms Malyanah gave us a blindfold each and we had to gone through an imaginary sensory experience .. When we were blindfolded , the whole class were silent and we were imagining the beautiful scenary in a different world .. When the activity was going on , some of the students were asleep while some of them were in their "lala land" .. I was in my own world , enjoying the scenary with "someone" . At the end of the activity , we were given a worksheet that has to be done by the next lesson of literature , the next term . Teacher told us that there will be a Macbeth act out next term and we were told to get ready . Im really looking forward to that day .

Term 1 Week 8 (wednesday)

Today lesson was quite interesting . We learnt about imagery . When Mr Chua step into the class , he quickly gave out a worksheet about imagery and we supposed to discuss the answer together . The imagery is about how Romeo described Juliet .
This is what Romeo described Juliet .

Photobucket
'Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! '

W uses touches to brightens up the dark places . When Romeo says that Juliet 'teaches the torches to burn bright' , he meant that she is more brighter that the torch .

Photobucket
'It seems she hangs upon the cheeks of night
Like a jewels in an Ethiope's ear. '

The literary device is personification.

When light were shown towards a diamond , it would blink as they were shiny. Ethiope is a country name . People there were all darked skin and Romeo refers that , she is brighter that the darked skin people .

Photobucket
'So shows a snowy dove trooping amongst crow,

As yonder lady over her fellows show'

The literary device is metaphor, as Juliet is as the same as the snowy dove because , they were both white in color .

Mr Chua explained all the imagery clearly . After he had already explained , he told us to compose a description of our loves one using the format that is used by Romeo . This homework is quite simple to me because i have already understand the format that is used by Romeo and when it is about love , im quite brilliant in it . *laugh*

Term 1 Week 7 (Fri)

Today theres is gonna be two part of literature lesson . One is in the morning and one is in the afternoon .

Part 1 :

We learnt about sonnets . The sonnet is one of the poetic forms that can be found in lyric poetry from Europe. The term "sonnet" derives from the Occitan word sonet and the Italian word sonetto, both meaning "little song" or "little sound". By the thirteenth century, it had come to signify a poem of fourteen lines that follows a strict rhyme scheme and specific structure. The conventions associated with the sonnet have evolved over its history. The writers of sonnets are sometimes referred to as "sonneteers," although the term can be used derisively. One of the best-known sonnet writers is William Shakespeare, who wrote 154 of them (not including those that appear in his plays). A Shakespearean, or English, sonnet consists of 14 lines, each line containing ten syllables and written in iambic pentameter, in which a pattern of an unemphasized syllable followed by an emphasized syllable is repeated five times. The rhyme scheme in a Shakespearean sonnet is a-b-a-b, c-d-c-d, e-f-e-f, g-g; the last two lines are a rhyming couplet. This is an example of sonnets :

If I profane with my unworthiest hand
This is my holy shrine, the gentle sin is this:
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss

Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
Which mannerly devotion shows in this,
For saints have hands that pilgrim's hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmer's kiss
Have not saints lips, and holy palmer's too?
Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.
O then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do.
Then pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair

Saints do not move, through grant for prayer's sake.
Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take.

After doing some question on the worksheet . Mr Chua explained the question that we don't understand . But then sadly , the bell rang . But luckily Mr Chua have explained one part of the worksheet . He told us to do the other part at home as homework .

Part 2:

We have just finished the story about The Merchant of Venice and now we continuing on the story of Romeo and Juliet . Let me tell you a summary of Romeo and Juliet . Romeo and Juliet is a love story whereby Romeo met Juliet at a Ball . At the ball , Romeo locks eyes with a young woman named Juliet. They instantly fall in love, but they do not realize that their families are mortal enemies. When they realize each other’s identities, they are devastated, but they cannot help the way that they feel. Romeo sneaks into Juliet’s yard after the party and proclaims his love for her. She returns his sentiments and the two decide to marry .

When Mr Chua came to class , he quickly gave out the character traits worksheet which is about Romeo and Juliet . Then he divided us into groups of 4 . 1-10 will be doing the charater traits of Romeo , 11-20 will be doing Juliet's character traits , 21-32 will be doin Tybalt's character traits and 33-42 will be doing Lord Capulet character traits . I will be doing Juliet and i really likes Juliet's character .

Then he gave us watched a scene of Romeo and Juliet which is at Lord Capulet's Party . That is where they first met . We watched the scene untill its finished and i really like the scene . It was really romantic :D Then Mr Chua tried to explain quickly about the scene because we a lacking of time . So we were told to finish up the character traits worksheet and hand it up . I think that the scene on Romeo and Juliet is interesting and i am going to love the lessons .
